Our Profile

Today the Lykion's existence is widely appreciated through a rich, multi-faceted programme of activities and events: Lectures, educational trips, youth programmes, the publication of a desk diary and the Christmas bazaar, all of which are organized by permanent committees. The Lykion continually seeks to promote the study and appreciation of Greek arts, customs and traditions.

An important feature of the Lykion's programme has been the teaching of Greek folkloric dance. Several groups, varying in age and ability, receive regular instruction by professionally qualified teachers. Each year, dressed in authentic regional costumes from the Lykion's valuable collection, they give several performances of dances representing the various regions of Greece and their unique customs.

With regard to all the activities undertaken by the Lykion, some of which have been mentioned above, we owe a debt of gratitude to our members for their loyal assistance and all our friends for their generous support over the years.

The Lykion Ton Hellinidon takes pride in its record of achievement and with your continued support and generosity we hope to improve and enlarge our contribution to the Greek Community and to the society in which we live.
